Fashion Stylist

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and fashion-forward Fashion Stylist to help clients look and feel their best through personalized styling, wardrobe planning, and outfit coordination. As a Fashion Stylist, you’ll combine your knowledge of current fashion trends with timeless style principles to create looks that reflect each client’s personality, lifestyle, and goals.

Whether working with individuals, brands, retailers, or editorial projects, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional style experiences and building confidence through fashion.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their style preferences, lifestyle, and fashion goals.
• Create complete outfit recommendations for everyday wear, business, special occasions, and seasonal wardrobes.
• Build capsule wardrobes that maximize versatility and timeless style.
• Recommend clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories.
• Stay informed about fashion trends, designers, fabrics, colors, and seasonal collections.
• Coordinate looks for photo shoots, events, fashion campaigns, or social media content.
• Organize wardrobe edits and closet consultations.
• Provide shopping assistance both in-store and online.
• Maintain excellent client relationships through personalized styling advice.
• Collaborate with photographers, makeup artists, designers, and creative teams when required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in fashion styling, retail, personal shopping, or wardrobe consulting.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, garment fit, body shapes, and color coordination.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Passion for helping clients build confidence through fashion.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• Experience working with luxury brands or premium retailers.
• Knowledge of capsule wardrobes and personal styling techniques.
• Experience styling for photo shoots, video productions, or social media.
• Familiarity with fashion e-commerce and online styling tools.
• Active social media portfolio or styling portfolio.

Salary

United States (Typical Range):

• Entry Level: $40,000–$55,000 per year
• Mid-Level: $55,000–$80,000 per year
• Senior/Luxury Stylist: $80,000–$120,000+ per year

Freelance and celebrity stylists may earn significantly more depending on their client base and projects.
